Info

The story of Stormheart begins in 1989, when the Berlin Wall breaks down. The father of a Finnish family visiting an East Berlin market place meets a strange puppy, who is sitting in a box with baby chicks. The puppy's days are numbered. Father decides to save the puppy and brings him back home as a pet for his daughters.

The daughters, Pearl , 7, and Minty, 13, wonder about the strange-looking fur ball. No one in the family knows anything about the dog, not even its breed. 7-year-old Pearl takes the puppy under her wing. In the loving care of Pearl, Stormheart grows up with no rules or boundaries. But quite unnoticed, the cute little fur ball swells into a tank-like bundle of muscles.

No fence, rope or chain can hold down the strong and sturdy dog as he starts looking after the Berryston family - and little Pearl in particular - to the best of his abilities. Stormheart is ready to fight and even to die for his closest ones, whether he be faced with Minty's boyfriend, the school principal, neighbours, a bear, the police or an entire armoured brigade.

Finally, the mystery of Stormheart unravels, and the dog´s new owners learn more about him. Stormheart is a Caucasian Shepherd and his parents had served as guard dogs at the Berlin Wall.

The touching story of Stormheart is based on real life events. Stormheart is a film for all people who love animals.
