David's Birthday is a tale of old love and pushed away desires. Two couples rent a beach-house over the summer, where they will find their long languished love. Diego is the slacker who always take the easy road, together with Shary he has a son, David, whom comes to visit them in Italy to celebrate his eighteenth birthday. The son has grown up and is now everything that Diego never was – good at sports, intelligent and an underwear model. The other couple, Matteo, over intelligent psychiatrist that’s always gone his own way, and his wife Francesca, has a platonic and dead relationship. David's arrival shakes the barley and exposes what has long been hidden. When Shary’s Brother Leonard, whose lifelong love died under mysterious circumstances a couple of years earlier, comes to stay with them there’s no longer any chance of escaping the inevitable. But is it too late? Happiness is not something superficial, happiness is what comes from being true to yourself and having the courage to love.
