Info

In the tradition of TRAINSPOTTING, PULP FICTION and LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS, SLIM SUSIE is described as "a gangster comedy from the boondocks of Sweden". The film tells the story of former beauty queen Slim Susie (Tuva Novotny), who is suddenly missing. Her brother Erik (Jonas Rimeika) returns to his childhood hometown to find her, and gets the shock of his lifetime when he discovers thatnothing is like it used to be when he left.

Erik´s best friends from school have turned into wannabe gangsters; they´re popping pills like madmen and instigating all sorts of schemes they´re not quite sharp enough to pull off. While searching for Susie, Erik finds himself drawn into a crazy whirlwind of lies, violence and small town madness. His gangster friends are running the place and the one policeman (Kjell Bergqvist) is doing nothing. And somewhere in the middle – Slim Susie may be stuck.

With a bundle of weird and funny characters, tons of laughs and stacks of action, SLIM SUSIE takes us on a fast-paced ride along the narrow roads of rural Sweden. Slim Susie is played by one of Sweden´s hottest actresses today, Tuva Novotny. Apart from being Shooting Star at the Berlinale 2002, she has been seen in JALLA JALLA (2000) by Josef Fares, and this year she will be seen in another NonStop Sales and Sandrew Metronome film, Kjell Grede´s MAKE BELIEVE. Kjell Bergqvist who plays Davidsson the policeman, was awarded a National Academy Award for Best Male Actor in 2002. Björn Starrin stars in his feature film debut, earning rave reviews for his performance as Grits who lives in his imaginary Pulp Fiction-like world.
